A natural polymer

Natural polymer

According to “Single Use Plastics Directive” (2019/904/EC) and REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), natural polymers that have not been chemically modified are not considered as “plastic”, and hence, are out of the scope of the Single Use Plastics Directive.

Natural polymers are understood as polymers, which are the result of a polymerisation process that has taken place in nature, independently of the extraction process with which they have been extracted. CareTips® polymerisation process takes place in the cow’s organism and there is no chemical modification in the production process.

Therefore, CareTips materials are considered as Natural Polymer, and hence these materials are NOT considered as plastics
